The F-List For Music has launched the Youth Industry Network, an initiative aimed at supporting young women and gender diverse individuals aged 16-25 at the start of their careers in the music industry. The project is backed by Youth Music, thanks to the People's Postcode Lottery, with additional sponsorship from Festival Republic.
The programme will be delivered through a mix of online and in-person sessions – with local activity hubs in Croydon, Wolverhampton and Darlington – and will give participants access to mentorship, workshops and networking events, with the aim to provide emerging music professionals (artists, crew or those in business roles) with the tools necessary to navigate the business.
Led by award-winning creative producer and sound designer Mimi Harmer, Youth Industry Network will also be delivered by three local leads: Live Nation’s live promoter Alex Ampofo as the Croydon lead, producer and coach Emily Jones as the Wolverhampton lead, and Tracks CIC co-founder, musician and event producer Sarah Wilson as the Darlington lead.
Applications are now open and the deadline has been extended to May 8, 2025. The programme will begin in June 2025 and run for 12 months.
“Having The F-List be one of the first organisations to build upon Youth Music's Industry Connect Coalition is a really powerful opportunity to amplify the voices of emerging female and gender minority artists in our local music networks, and to build a more safe, inclusive, connected and creatively vibrant industry from the ground up,” said Harmer. “I'm really proud to be a small part of it.”
