Tems unveils the Leading Vibe Initiative supporting women in music

The Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter and producer Tems has announced the launch of the Leading Vibe Initiative, a platform designed to support, connect and amplify young women in music across Africa, with an aim to expand its impact globally.

Set to debut this August with programming in Tems' hometown of Lagos, Nigeria, the Leading Vibe Initiative is supported by Native Instruments and will provide workshops, professional-grade tools and resources, mentorship and direct career progression opportunities. It aims to build a support sytem for emerging female artists, producers, songwriters and music professionals, increasing representation across the business.

The initiative launches with an open call for applications to its inaugural program in Lagos, taking place August 8-9, with additional rollouts slated in Africa later this year.

Alongside the initiative, Tems is also joining Native Instruments’ Artist Board – an advisory collective of musicians, producers and engineers including Alicia Keys, Jacob Collier, and Noah '40' Shebib – where she will provide artist-first feedback on products and features, guiding the development of instruments and addressing the challenges facing artists globally.

“My goal with the Leading Vibe Initiative is to help discover and support talented young women who have the potential to redefine the industry,” said Tems. “By providing access, tools and opportunity, we’re creating space for them to find their voices, step into their power and shape the future of music across the continent and globally.”
