Singer Syndie Christmas and Olly Murs were among the winners at this month's Variety Club Showbusiness Awards.
The event took place at The Londoner Hotel, and celebrated some of the greatest names in showbusiness across TV, film, music, theatre and sport and all helping to raise funds for Variety, the Children's Charity, while also celebrating 70 years of ITV, the UK’s largest commercial broadcaster.
From the music world, Sydnie Christmas – an acclaimed singer and actress who became the first female winner to win Britain’s Got Talent – was awarded for Outstanding New ITV Talent, recognising her “bright future as a rising star in entertainment”. Also honoured on the night, Olly Murs won for Outstanding Contribution To Music, recognising both his chart-topping career and support for charitable causes.

Christmas’ debut album My Way soared to No.1 on the iTunes chart, and she has also headlined a sold-out national tour, culminating in Sydnie: Live in London at the Adelphi Theatre, filmed for broadcast on PBS in America.
Christmas has starred at the Royal Variety Performance, performed two sold-out headline shows at Sony Hall in New York, and appeared at David Foster’s 75th birthday concert at the Hollywood Bowl alongside Andrea Bocelli, Jennifer Hudson, and Josh Groban.
Christmas is currently recording her debut originals album, due for release in spring 2026.
