Fraser T Smith launches Future Producer Academy

Fraser T Smith has launched his new initiative The Future Producer Academy.

Dedicated to advancing equality in the music industry, with a focus on music production, the Academy aims to provide aspiring young producers with access to music production education and career opportunities.

Smith first spoke about the initiative in his recent Music Week interview.

The producer has collaborated with global acts including Adele, Stormzy, Dave, Celine Dion and Snow Patrol.

With the launch of the programme, each year 16 aspiring music producers will be selected from across the UK to participate in this transformative programme.

Fraser T Smith said: ‘I’m delighted to launch the Future Producer Academy, and to be supporting the next generation of young music producers, with our focus on restoring the imbalance of gender, culture and privilege within the UK’s creative space.”

The programme will deliver mentorship and music production tuition with the Academy partnering with Music Guardians, the Music Producers Guild (MPG), PPL and online learning platform Virtuoso, as well as leading figures in the UK music industry.

“The Academy offers the incredible opportunity of mentorship from some of the most esteemed professionals alongside the commitment to secure paid work placements for all students upon completion of the programme,” said a statement.
