Sony Music Publishing appoints Michael Young as chief information officer

Sony Music Publishing has appointed Michael Young as chief information officer. 

Based in Nashville, Young will report to Sony Music Publishing’s chief financial officer, Tom Kelly.

“As CIO, Young will lead the company’s technology strategy and its ongoing transformation initiatives to advance growth, scalability and efficiency on behalf of SMP songwriters and catalogues worldwide,” said a statement.

He will also work closely across departments to expand data-driven insights.

I look forward to working with the team to advance support for SMP songwriters throughout their creative journeys.”

Young has more than 25 years of experience in executive IT leadership across the media, financial services and technology sectors. 

Most recently, he served as chief product and technology officer at Chatham Financial, where he oversaw global product and technology strategy. Prior to that, he held senior roles at Reuters, Paycase Financial and Afilias.
