Former EMI CEO Roger Faxon is stepping down from the board of Salt for health reasons.
In a statement, the music royalties processing platform said he has been an “important contributor to the company’s strategic direction and growth”.
During his tenure, he played a key role in supporting the organisation’s aim to employ technological innovation to improve accuracy, transparency and efficiency in paying rights-holders.
“It has been a privilege to work with the team at Salt,” said Roger Faxon. “I have been consistently impressed by the calibre of the management, the progress the company has made and the commitment to building great technology solutions that genuinely improve outcomes for rights-holders. I am confident the company is well positioned for continued success.”

The board of Salt extended its thanks to Faxon for his contribution to the company, wishing him well as he focuses on his health and recovery.
Designed to support both traditional and digital income streams, Salt processes royalties from broadcast radio, broadcast TV, digital platforms, international income from sister societies, and VOD streaming services.
In addition, Salt Sessions is a collaboration app for music creators, ensuring musicians receive proper credit when their music is used.
Salt’s board and investors include Björn Ulvaeus of ABBA and Dave Stewart of Eurythmics.
