Reservoir Media has signed a global publishing deal with Nya Gazelle Brown, Sabrina Cunningham and Piya Malik, who together comprise Brooklyn-based band Say She She. The deal includes each member of the band’s catalogue, as well as future works.
Say She She, whose name pays homage to Nile Rodgers and Chic’s 1978 hit Le Freak, are accompanied by members of the cult funk band Orgone. They combine elements of disco, soul, funk, pop, and more.
The group’s debut album, Prism, was released in 2022 and earned critical acclaim. In November 2023, Say She She was featured on CBS’ Mornings ahead of their second album, Silver, which was highlighted by LA-based tastemaker radio station KCRW.
In support of Silver, the band toured across Europe and the US, performing at venues like the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles and the Roundhouse in London, as well as festivals including Glastonbury, Austin City Limits and Pickathon.
Say She She recently made their first on-air TV appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, performing Disco Life off their third album Cut & Rewind, released in October. Say She She has since kicked off an international tour in support of the album through 2026.
In a statement, Say She She said: “We’re thrilled to share that we’ve officially joined the Reservoir family and are proud to call them our publishers alongside such a prestigious roster of writers! From day one, the team felt perfectly aligned (and in sync) with us, and we’re excited to partner with people who truly share our creative vision.”
James Cheney, Reservoir vice president of creative, said: “From the first time I heard Blow My Mind back in 2022, I was an instant fan. When I realized I had the chance to work with Nya, Sabrina and Piya, I jumped at the opportunity. They blend powerful vocals, sophisticated songwriting, and a live show that keeps the dance floor full. They are on the cusp of great things, and I’m thrilled that they’ve decided to join the Reservoir family.”
