Peermusic signs Grammy-nominated artist and producer Terrace Martin to global admin deal

Peermusic has signed producer, musician and multi-instrumentalist Terrace Martin to a worldwide publishing administration deal.

Through the deal, Peermusic will also represent Terrace Martin for worldwide neighbouring rights.

Martin’s recent work includes two full-length releases – Albion Files and Come As You Are, a collaborative album with Kenyon Dixon. Come As You Are has earned a nomination for Best Progressive R&B Album at the 2026 Grammy Awards, while its single WeMaj (with Kenyon Dixon featuring Rapsody) received a nomination for Best Melodic Rap Performance.

Throughout his career, Martin has achieved eight Grammy nominations, 17 billion streams and 16 million album sales.

Jamie Cerreta, president US and Canada, Peermusic, said: “Terrace’s influence is highly respected – he’s a true innovator with an extraordinary catalogue across hip-hop, R&B, soul and jazz. Terrace has already left an indelible mark on music and we’re excited to welcome him to the Peermusic family and support him as he continues to build his legacy.”

Tuff Morgan, vice president of A&R, Peermusic, said: “Terrace is ‘West Coast Royalty’ and he’s delivered culture-changing records throughout his career. In the Los Angeles music scene, the work that Terrace has done to carry on the city’s rich history of jazz and hip-hop is revered. We’re honored to have him join our roster and excited to work on this new chapter with ‘The Sound of Crenshaw’ himself!”

Terrace Martin said: “Jamie, Tuff and the whole team just get me and my approach. They not only understand the direction I want to take my business, but anticipate the goals I’ve set to get there. They move with integrity and purpose, and I’m excited to see what we build together.”

Martin has worked with artists like Snoop Dogg, Lalah Hathaway, Herbie Hancock, The Game, YG, Summer Walker, Busta Rhymes, Kendrick Lamar, Ty Dolla $ign, Travis Scott, Rapsody, ScHoolboy Q and 2 Chainz.

His contributions to Lamar’s 2012 breakthrough album, Good Kid, MAAD City and the 2015 album To Pimp a Butterfly earned Martin his first Grammy nominations.

His own discography includes projects such as Locke High (2008), the Grammy-nominated Velvet Portraits (2016), Drones (2021), and collaborative releases such as Fine Tune (2023), I Left My Heart in Ladera (2023) and Nintendo Soul (2024).

Martin founded his label, Sounds of Crenshaw, in 2016. It has released projects including the Grammy-nominated supergroup Dinner Party alongside Kamasi Washington, Robert Glasper and 9th Wonder.

Last month, Martin launched Sounds of Crenshaw Live, a new performance series on YouTube celebrating Come As You Are.
