Peermusic promotes Jody Farber to chief financial officer

Peermusic has promoted Jody Farber to chief financial officer.

Farber previously served as senior vice president, finance and strategy for Peermusic. She will report to CEO Mary Megan Peer and will be based in New York.

In her new role, Farber will oversee all financial activities for the company.

In a statement, Peermusic said she will work with a global team to “promote financial health and operational excellence”, overseeing global treasury, financial planning and budgeting, accounting and control, management reporting and deal analysis. Farber will develop strategies to support business goals, working closely with Peermusic’s global leadership team.

Jody Farber succeeds Bill Gorjance, who is stepping down following a 20-year tenure as Peermusic’s CFO. While at Peermusic, Gorjance enabled the company to accelerate its growth – including tripling its revenues in the past 10 years – by expanding and diversifying its global footprint, enabling greater deal flow and strengthening its administrative and technical set-up.

He led Peermusic’s global financial activities whilst simultaneously serving as international vice president of the company’s classical music division, a role he will continue part-time.

We know that she will bring continued commitment to financial integrity and operational excellence as we build successful partnerships with our songwriters and artists

His contributions go well beyond the financial and his wisdom has left an indelible mark on our company and writers.

“As CFO, we are confident that Jody will ensure that Peermusic’s profitable growth continues. In the two years she has been at Peermusic, she has become an integral part of our global finance team. We know that she will bring continued commitment to financial integrity and operational excellence as we build successful partnerships with our songwriters and artists.”
