Notting Hill Music signs Slade guitarist Dave Hill

Notting Hill Music has signed Slade guitarist Dave Hill to a global publishing deal.

The publishing agreement has been unveiled as Hill prepares to release his debut solo album, Dirty Foot Lane, through JCPL Records.

Dave Hill is best known as the lead guitarist of Slade, the most successful British group of the 1970s, with 23 Top 20 singles – six of which were No.1s – and six albums, including three chart-toppers. With a career spanning over five decades, he continues to record and perform.

Dirty Foot Lane is described as a “rich, autobiographical collection of songs reflecting a lifetime of music, creativity and personal discovery”. The LP blends rock, blues and folk.

Roy Davis, head of rock and country for Notting Hill Music Publishing, said: “I’m absolutely over the moon with bringing Dave into the Notting Hill family. If anyone had told the 15-year-old me that one day I’d be working with Dave, I’d have said they’d have lost their minds.

“To be involved in Dave’s new project is incredibly exciting, it’s a great album, and a new chapter in Dave's musical journey, and I’m very proud that both myself and Notting Hill Music will be part of it!”

'I'm really excited that my first solo album, Dirty Foot Lane, is being released this October and to be working with Roy Davis, at Notting Hill Music,” said Dave Hill. “They're one of the world's leading music publishers and I know that being with them will get my solo work out to a massive global audience. And with Roy Davis, I'm in the very best  hands.”
