Notting Hill Music has signed a long-term exclusive publishing deal with Hugo Chegwin, a two-time Ivor Novello Award winner.
Chegwin’s writing and production credits span hit singles with Sam Smith, Emeli Sandé and Leona Lewis, as well as collaborations with artists like Plan B, Maverick Sabre and Mary J Blige.
His debut EP, released last year on independent label Modern Sky, received playlist, radio and press support. The new deal will support his artist career.
As co-creator, co-star, and composer on the hit BBC series People Just Do Nothing, Chegwin helped shape a cult phenomenon over five seasons, earning a BAFTA Award along the way.
Notting Hill chairman Andy McQueen said: “It is Hugo’s versatility and astounding ability to succeed and thrive in the most competitive sectors of the entertainment business – music, television and film, and conquer every creative and executive discipline he chooses to take on within each of those fields that we find so exciting and which compelled us to pursue this deal so ardently. We are totally committed to creating and seeking out new musical opportunities and collaborations for him to select whatever he finds most interesting to him.”
