Notting Hill Music has signed rising band The Clause to a global publishing deal.
In a statement, the company said the deal will “further enhance the band’s growing reputation as they continue to promote their debut album and tour the UK and Europe”.
The Clause landed a No.1 last year on the independent albums chart (as well as an overall Top 20 position) with debut LP Victim Of A Casual Thing.
The band also completed a sold-out UK headline tour which culminated with a show at 3,000-capacity Birmingham’s O2 Academy.
Notting Hill A&R Roy Davis said: “I am thrilled to have signed The Clause, we’re confident we can showcase their songwriting talents to put further momentum behind one of the best young bands in Europe. Their recent show at the Birmingham O2 Academy was the best live event I’ve witnessed in many years. I was determined to sign them and help develop them even further.”

The Clause frontman Pearce Macca said: “We’re made up to be signing with a publisher with such a rich history in the music industry and a roster of incredible artists. After landing a UK No.1 independent and Top 20 record with our independently released debut album last year, we’re buzzing for what’s next. After meeting the team, we knew Notting Hill were the right people to help take us where our ambitions lead. We can’t wait to see what the future holds.”
The Clause resumed touring as part of the sold-out Independent Venue Week tour.
In March and April, they will commence the second leg of their Victim Of A Casual Thing tour with dates in Europe, Ireland and additional UK cities.
In the summer, The Clause are already confirmed to headline festivals This Feeling By The Sea and 110 Above, with In It Together, Tramlines, Together Again, Y Not? and Victorious also on the live schedule.
