Kobalt signs Take That's Howard Donald to global deal

Kobalt has signed singer, songwriter, DJ and record producer Howard Donald to a global publishing deal.

“Signing with Kobalt Music just feels right,” said Howard Donald. “They understand where I’m coming from and where I want to go with my music. I’m excited for everything we're going to create together.”

With a career spanning over three decades, Donald is a member of Take That – one of the most successful pop groups of all time.

Since forming in 1989, the band have won eight BRIT Awards, sold over 45 million records worldwide, and moved more than eight million concert tickets.

As a lead vocalist on several of the group’s singles, including Never Forget, Donald has played a key role in shaping the band’s enduring legacy.

"I am incredibly proud to welcome Howard Donald to our roster,” said Brian Mahoney, vice president, creative catalogue & business development at Kobalt. “He is an exceptionally talented songwriter and artist, and I look forward to supporting him as he takes the next steps in his career.”

Beyond his success with Take That, Howard has built a solo career as both a songwriter and DJ, performing sets across the globe. His creative reach also extends into television, having hosted Channel 4’s Mission Ignition and served as a judge on the German dance competition series Got to Dance.

Chris Dempsey, Howard Donald’s manager at Corduroy Artists, added: “We’re proud to be partnering with Kobalt Music at this stage of Howard’s career. Kenny, Brian and Alaine have been instrumental from the outset, bringing a strategic approach to the catalogue, proactive global sync outreach, and a deep understanding of Howard as a songwriter. Having a team that is both ambitious and aligned in their vision is invaluable, and we look forward to what’s ahead.”

"Howard Donald’s legacy as a songwriter and artist is well established, and it’s an exciting moment for us to be part of what comes next,” added Kenny McGoff, EVP, Head of Creative UK & GSA, Kobalt. “It’s also been a pleasure working closely with Chris, Emma and the team at Corduroy Management to bring this partnership together, and we look forward to continuing to build on that relationship.”

In 2026, Donald will reunite with Take That for a major run of stadium shows across the UK and Ireland with the return of The Circus tour. This year will also see the release of the band’s 10th studio album.
