Boutique publisher Inverted Music UK has entered into a long-term worldwide publishing agreement with the estate of Georgian composer Otar Taktakishvili, encompassing his complete body of work.
The partnership sees Inverted assume full global administration of the catalogue.
Taktakishvili’s catalogue is culturally significant within Georgia, while increasingly finding new audiences internationally.
“We are deeply honoured to represent and steward Otar Taktakishvili’s extraordinary catalogue,” said Ethav Mojgani, director of Inverted Music UK. “His music carries a rare sense of place and identity, yet speaks with universal clarity.
“Whether working with a contemporary hit songwriter or stewarding a major 20th century composer’s legacy, our approach at Inverted is the same. We work closely with writers and estates to build sustainable, internationally relevant careers and catalogues.”

Recent performances and recordings have introduced Taktakishvili’s music to wider global audiences, notably through mandolin virtuoso Avi Avital. His Between Worlds project (Deutsche Grammophon) features Mingrelian Songs, recorded with the Rustavi Choir and performed at the BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall.
In a statement, Inverted Music UK said it continues to expand its curated catalogue, combining contemporary and historical writers.
