Groove Bound Songs has signed Ellie Gowers to an exclusive songwriter agreement under its joint venture with Bucks Music Group.
Having released her debut album Dwelling By The Weir in 2022, Gowers has secured her place on the UK touring circuit, and, following the release of her single The Stars Are Ours in 2023, she played a BBC Radio 2 live session before an Autumn tour in the same year.
Last year, she released a six-track EP titled You, The Passenger, which has had airplay from BBC Radio 2’s Mark Radcliffe and 6 Music’s Lauren Laverne and featured on numerous playlists. Gowers toured the UK supporting Gemma Hayes in October 2024, including a first appearance at Union Chapel. She has also toured as the support act for artists including Blair Dunlop and Elephant Sessions, and has composed music for BBC Radio 3’s production of Middlemarch.

“When I first heard A Moment from her latest EP, I knew, in a moment, that Ellie is a writer that I would love to work with,” said Groove Bound Songs founder Jonathan Tester. “You, The Passenger is a beautiful collection of songs that demonstrates her gift of weaving strong melodies through delicate and tender lyrics. I am so excited to be working with Ellie and her manager John, and helping her on the next phase of her career.”
“I’m so happy to be signing to Groove Bound Songs,” commented Gowers. “Songwriting is at the very heart of everything I do, so to have a publisher with the passion and expertise that Jonathan has is really inspiring. I can’t wait for this exciting venture!”
Gowers’ manager John Hart added: “We are delighted and excited to have signed to Groove Bound Songs. Working with Jonathan is a dream come true for us. His history and background in sync is phenomenal and to have access to this with the added support of a historic publisher such as Bucks is more that we could wish for. Exciting times!”
