Concord Music Publishing signs Australian rock act Floodlights

Concord Music Publishing ANZ has signed Australian alternative rock act Floodlights to a global publishing deal.

Floodlights first captured international attention with their 2019 EP Backyard and 2020 debut album From a View. They earned critical acclaim in 2023 with their second studio album, Painting Of My Time.

“Floodlights have built an audience through their unflinching storytelling, compelling live performances, and authentic creative spirit,” said a statement.

Their latest single, Tricky, was recorded in their Melbourne studio with guitarist Archie Shannon at the helm.

Floodlights have performed across the world, including sold-out headline shows and appearances at SXSW Austin, Pitchfork Paris, End Of The Road, Green Man, Haldern Pop, Laneway, Meredith Music Festival and Vivid Live, alongside support slots for The Killers, Black Midi, Amyl & The Sniffers and Pavement.

Later this month, the band will return to the UK for shows supporting Amyl & The Sniffers (O2 Victoria Warehouse, Manchester on October 22 and London’s Alexandra Palace on October 25), as well as a London release show for Tricky (London’s Shacklewell Arms, October 21).

Matt Tanner, VP, A&R, Concord Music Publishing ANZ, said: “Floodlights are one of the most compelling bands coming out of Australia right now. Their songwriting is thoughtful, and deeply evocative – it captures something real about place, identity, and emotion. We’re excited and proud to welcome them to the roster.”

In a group statement, Floodlights added. “We’re so excited to be working with Concord. We’re massive fans of what they do and love lots of bands on their roster. It feels like a new door of opportunity opening for us!”

“With this signing, Floodlights join the global Concord Music Publishing family, gaining access to bespoke creative support and worldwide representation across Concord’s offices in Nashville, Los Angeles, New York, London, Berlin, and Melbourne,” said a Concord statement. “The partnership underlines Concord’s continued commitment to championing exceptional Australian talent on the world stage.”
