Bucks Music Group has signed DJ and music producer Man Power to an exclusive worldwide publishing deal.
Man Power (real name Geoff Kirkwood) has been a regular feature on the line-ups at major clubs and festivals for over a decade.
2024 saw the artist continue to reach new audiences with contributions to the Resident Advisor Podcast, BBC Radio 1’s Legendary Essential Mix and the announcement of his monthly residency on Rinse FM, alongside releases on labels such as Rekids, Hypercolour and Make A Dance. He has completed multiple tours of Europe, North America and South East Asia.
There has also been increased media attention relating to his efforts to preserve authentic club culture, whether through mentorship, direct action or via his own club project, Are You Affiliated (AYA). Are You Affiliated has seen Man Power reinvigorate the nightlife in his hometown of North Shields through events featuring the likes of Caribou, Gerd Janson, Optimo, Daniel Avery and more.
There are plans for an Ibiza summer club residency and a tour of his AYA concept around UK venues. A new full-length Man Power album is in the works for release later in the year.
He is one of the most important current voices in UK electronic music
Josh Gregg
Bucks A&R Josh Gregg said: “It's an honour to be working with Geoff. He is one of the most important current voices in UK electronic music, and we're excited to amplify that wherever possible. As a writer, the fact he works across so many different kinds of projects truly feels like a perfect creative fit at Bucks.”
Man Power said: “I already feel very at home at Bucks. It was important to me to work with an independent company, but the scale of Bucks actually offers the best of both worlds. In a time where it can sometimes feel that outside forces are trying to devalue music, it's a deep relief and genuine pleasure to be working with people who you can tell genuinely care about the works they're handling.”
Bucks’ catalogue includes works written by David Bowie, the Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath, Procol Harum, DJ Fresh, James Blunt, Professor Green, Rudimental, Beyonce, Can, Pete Doherty, Roni Size & Reprazent, David Arnold, Sacha Skarbek, Troy Miller, Seton Daunt, Ash Howes, James Dring, Erol Alkan, Little Barrie, Nadine Shah, Ivory Layne, Erland Cooper, Catty, Emma Blackery, The Heavytrackerz, Brooke Bentham, Gold Spectacles, Molly Payton, Johnny Madden, Joshua Epithet, Rosbeh, Murdo Mitchell and more.
Label publishing partners include: Heavenly, Nude, Full Time Hobby, Brownswood, Rekids and Arts & Crafts.
