Bucks Music Group and Mushroom Music sign Holy Holy's Oscar Dawson to joint venture publishing deal

Bucks Music Group (UK) and Mushroom Music (Australia) have signed musician, songwriter, producer and engineer Oscar Dawson in a joint venture publishing deal.

Dawson is one half of Holy Holy, who amassed a catalogue of five albums, a double platinum single, one platinum and four gold singles, and over 150 million streams on Spotify alone, before announcing a hiatus at the start of 2025.

As a writer, producer and engineer, Dawson has worked with a wide range of acts including Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers, Vacations, Amy Shark, Alex Lahey, The Darklings, Last Dinosaurs, Lotte Gallagher, Jamie McCool and many more.

Mushroom Music’s catalogue extends from late ’60s classics by Billy Thorpe and The Loved Ones through to Daddy Cool, and important acts in later decades including The Triffids, Skyhooks, Hunters & Collectors, Split Enz, Boys Next Door, Models, Sunnyboys, Yothu Yindi, Archie Roach, The Chills, Dance Exponents, The Vines and The Bats.

It’s more recent roster has included Chet Faker (Nick Murphy), The Temper Trap, DD Dumbo, Nat Dunn, Dan Sultan, Violent Soho, Julia Jacklin, Vance Joy, King Gizzard & the Wizard Lizard, Jack River, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Gordi, Rolling Blackouts CF, Hatchie, and DMA’s.

Bucks’ catalogue includes works written by David Bowie, the Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath, Procol Harum, DJ Fresh, James Blunt, Professor Green, Rudimental, Beyoncé, Can, Pete Doherty, Roni Size & Reprazent, David Arnold, Guy Chambers, Sacha Skarbek, Troy Miller, and more.

The publisher has also signed deals with Erol Alkan, Little Barrie, Nadine Shah, Manpower, Erland Cooper, Catty, Emma Blackery, The Heavytrackerz, Brooke Bentham, Molly Payton, Johnny Madden, Joshua Epithet, Rosbeh, Clavis7even, Murdo Mitchell and more.

Label publishing partners include: Heavenly, Nude, Full Time Hobby, Brownswood, Rekids and Arts & Crafts.
