Believe Music Publishing launches headed by Sentric's Chris Meehan

Believe Music Publishing has launched with ambitions to tap into global growth in the sector.

The launch follows Believe’s acquisition of Sentric in 2023.

“Powered by leading proprietary technology, data and digital excellence, Believe Music Publishing’s unique global collection infrastructure benefits from historical partnerships with collection societies and is driven by a fair and transparent approach,” said a statement.

It operates with a global footprint of 160 publishing experts and dedicated teams across multiple fields, including creative, sync and revenue optimisation.

Believe is creating synergies and integration across recording and publishing, allowing teams to leverage a combined set of data to expand opportunities for both artists and rights-holders.

Sentric will continue to offer administration solutions for self-published songwriters, while TuneCore will keep providing its clients with a publishing administration service.

Believe has named Chris Meehan as Believe’s CEO of Publishing, with the mission of building the company’s global publishing foundations. Meehan joined Believe after its acquisition of Sentric, which he founded in 2006.

Denis Ladegaillerie, founder & CEO, Believe, said: “The launch of Believe Music Publishing consolidates Believe’s position as an integrated global music company. With digital now being the biggest driver of collections for creators, and the publishing market exceeding €4 billion after a decade of double-digit growth, we are uniquely positioned to lead the evolving publishing market, where growth continues to be increasingly driven by digital, with a publishing arm that now matches and complements our leadership in recording.

“I am confident that Chris and the outstanding team he is building will successfully drive our innovative digital-first offering, putting our global and comprehensive approach at the service of artists, labels and publishers at each stage of their careers.”
