'The Women In Music Awards matter more than ever': Co-founders' message to the industry for WIM 2025

It’s time once again for a truly inspirational event in the music industry calendar – the Music Week Women In Music Awards 2025.

With WIM mainstay Alice Levine returning on hosting duties for no less than the 10th time, executives, artists and music industry legends will be out in force today (October 10) for the daytime event at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House London. It’s our second year at the impressive venue on Park Lane.

As in previous years, this year’s edition of the Women In Music Awards sold out well in advance. So be sure to book well ahead for the 2026 edition when tables go on sale in early spring.

The hugely successful awards recognise the incredible careers of women and female-identifying people in the music business. Click here for the full rundown and winners at last year’s hugely popular ceremony.

A reminder that doors open at 12 noon for the drinks reception, followed by lunch and the awards ceremony. The dress code for the day: smart.

Following lunch and the ceremony, the after-party at the venue kicks off at 5.30pm with DJ and broadcaster Tara Kumar on the decks. As well as DJing at the Universal Records BRITs after party, Kumar has covered for former BBC Radio 1 presenter Clara Amfo and for Jack Saunders.

As we enter our second decade, it's clear that the Women in Music Awards matter more than ever

Lara Baker & Alison Wenham

Women In Music is staged in association with AIM and UK Music. Although it marked its 10th anniversary last year, the event to celebrate and honour female talent in the industry is just as vital as it was when it launched in 2014.

“As we enter our second decade, it's clear that the Women in Music Awards matter more than ever,” said co-founders Lara Baker and Alison Wenham. “They remind us how powerful it is when women come together to celebrate one another and to shape a more inclusive future for this industry. The day itself is always full of joy, pride and hope – a real celebration of what’s possible when we lift each other up.”

As anyone who’s ever attended the ceremony knows, Women In Music is a much-loved industry occasion.

Last year’s event was another brilliant industry celebration with Natasha Khan presenting Tori Amos with the Inspirational Artist award, radio stars Clara Amfo and Jo Whiley honouring BBC director of music Lorna Clarke with the Outstanding Contribution trophy, and Molly Neuman, president of Downtown Music’s CD Baby, named as International Woman Of The Year.

Music Week unveiled this year’s Roll Of Honour in association with TikTok last month. The 15 inductees join a line-up of previous honorees, including industry superstars such as Kanya King, Lucy Dickins, Colette Carey, Emma Banks, Amber Davis, Rebecca Allen, Stacey Tang, Komali Scott-Jones, Shani Gonzales and Claire Haffenden.
