The Cat's Mother revealed as official charity of the Music Week Awards 2026

We’re delighted to announce that The Cat’s Mother will be joining us as our official charity at next month’s completely sold out Music Week Awards.

The hugely popular ceremony will return on May 7, 2026 at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House London to recognise brilliant work in the music industry across labels, publishing, live, A&R, radio, marketing, PR and more.

Founded by Natalie Wade and Niki Evangelou in 2019, The Cat’s Mother is a not-for-profit female focused networking service which aims to connect young women (18-24) from low income backgrounds with professional established women who work in the music industry.

The service now counts more than 230 active mentors (Cat’s Mothers) who represent different roles within the music industry – from marketing to management, legal to licensing, PR to publishing.

Speaking about partnering with Music Week, Natalie Wade, co-founder of The Cat's Mother Network: “We are completely overwhelmed to be named the charity of the year for this year’s Music Week Awards. We're a small organisation which simply can't run without the time of some bossing female music professionals and the support of the wider music industry community. It’s opportunities like this that will help us make real life changes for the talented, under-represented, low-income young women that we serve. Thanks Music Week!”

Sara Lord & Charlotte-Anne Myler, co-chairs of The Cat's Mother Network, added: “What a start to 2026 Cat’s Mother is having! We are so proud of the work that we do, and to have the amazing Music Week team want to support that work with such an incredible opportunity makes us very happy and grateful… We are a very small social enterprise that delivers and we are looking forward to spreading the word at this year’s awards.”

Last month, Cat’s Mother hosted its first ever fundraiser to directly safeguard the enterprise's future as well as its beneficiaries. Music Week is delighted to be able to shine a light on the essential work they do.
