The BRIT Awards ratings have held steady for the ITV1 and ITVX Saturday night broadcast.
According to overnight figures, the 2025 BRITs were watched by an average 2.5 million viewers. That was the same as 2024 although it did represent a higher share of overall TV viewing.
Further data will come in on the digital impact of the show across social media and YouTube.
While the TV audience was stable this year, it is down on the first Saturday night broadcast in 2023 when Harry Styles helped ratings increase to 3.3 million. That was the best result in three years.
The focus will now turn to the 2026 edition and whether the BRITs remains in the weekend slot.
In our exclusive BRITs preview digital cover, showrunner and Atlantic MD & president of promotions Damian Christian – in his final year – said that the move to Saturday night in 2023 has been the most significant development under his charge. But he admitted that nothing is set in stone for the following year.
“You've got to say Saturday night, because we managed to do that,” he said. “So in our three-year tenure, we've held a Saturday night for the BRITs. That will never change. And like I say, it might revert back now, who knows? People might want to move it back for whatever reason, and if they do, good luck to them. But I think moving to a Saturday night made it feel like a really big occasion.”
Hosted by Jack Whitehall, the broadcast live from the O2 Arena was opened by US star Sabrina Carpenter, who helped pull in three million viewers for the 8.15pm start.
Other performers included Jade (pictured), Lola Young, Ezra Collective & Jorja Smith, Sam Fender, The Last Dinner Party, Myles Smith and Teddy Swims.
Although she didn’t perform, Charli XCX won five awards on the night.
In her acceptance speech for Artist Of The Year near the end of the evening, the Atlantic artist suggested that ITV had objected to her sheer black dress and had been “complaining about my nipples”.
