YMU sells accountancy practice in management buyout

YMU has sold its accountancy business, YMU Business Management, in the form of a management buyout.

The deal has allowed YMU to focus on its core business of talent management in sport, music and entertainment, and sees YMU Business Management become OJK Business Management, a bespoke accountancy, tax advisory and business management practice.

YMU will continue to partner with OJK for existing and future YMU clients seeking accountancy services, with Pat Savage, chair of OJK, continuing to maintain a relationship with YMU.

“This transaction enables YMU to focus on its core purpose and business – the management of elite clients in sport, music and entertainment and allows the OJK team to focus on theirs in accountancy,” said Mary Bekhait, YMU CEO. “We have the utmost respect for all that Pat Savage and the Business Management leadership team have built over the years and we will continue to partner with OJK on existing and future YMU clients for accountancy services.”

Julie Symes, joint MD of OJK, said: “I am delighted that we have come to a mutually beneficial agreement which allows both organisations the opportunity to continue working side by side, whilst enabling us to focus on our core business and growth strategies. It goes without saying that the strong relationship which exists between us will  continue through our shared clients and office space.”
