Twickets appoints non-executive director as it reports significant sales growth

Ethical ticket resale platform Twickets has announced the appointment of Martin Fitzgerald (pictured) as its first non-executive director.

The appointment has been confirmed as the business builds on a period of growth and prepares for its next phase of expansion in the live entertainment sector.

Fitzgerald has extensive experience from senior leadership roles at See Tickets and Eventim UK, where he helped steer various commercial and strategic developments.

“At Twickets, he will work alongside the leadership team to drive growth, explore new resale opportunities and provide strategic counsel across commercial and marketing initiatives,” said a statement.

Twickets reported a 30% increase in revenue and a 25% rise in tickets sold in the first half of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024.

The platform also welcomed over five million users in the first six months of the year, with high demand for artists including Sam Fender, Slipknot and Stereophonics. The most sought after ticket so far this year has been Oasis – Twickets is the official resale partner for the band’s reunion tour.

Richard Davies, CEO of Twickets, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Martin to Twickets at such a pivotal time for the business. His deep industry knowledge, proven strategic acumen and passion for fairer ticketing align perfectly with our mission. Martin will be an invaluable sounding board as we look to scale the business and further challenge the status quo in ticket resale.”

Martin Fitzgerald added: “Twickets have managed to turn ticketing into a good news story and I’ve long admired their commitment to putting fans first and disrupting the inflated resale market. It’s easy to see why so many artists, venues and events have partnered with them to deliver a fair resale solution for their fans. With that in mind, I’m thrilled to join Richard and the team to support the next phase of growth, and to help bring more ethical resale solutions to the wider live entertainment industry.”
