The Showtime Group expands with new investment

The Showtime Group is entering a new phase of expansion following investment from Antamar Capital Partners.

The company is now scaling its repertoire-led live music formats for the global live market.

Founded by musician, broadcaster and live entertainment executive Leo Green – founder of BluesFest London and former director of live events at Live Nation UK – The Showtime Group develops, produces and licenses concerts built around iconic songs and repeatable production models.

“The company is built around a clear market opportunity: audiences continue to seek familiar music experiences, while venues, promoters, festivals and orchestras need flexible, high-quality content that can work outside conventional artist touring cycles,” said a statement.

The investment from Antamar will enable The Showtime Group to move beyond individual productions and build a structured live entertainment business around scalable formats, long-term IP development and operational growth.

The Showtime Group can work with artists, managers and rights-holders as a commercial live entertainment partner, and at a musical and creative level.

The company’s current portfolio includes Icons Orchestral, Van Morrison Alumni Band and Secret Sax Party, alongside The Showtime Group’s previous live format work including BBC Radio 2’s Sounds Of The 60s Live, licensed by the BBC’s commercial rights and business affairs department.

Since launching in 2019, BBC Sounds Of The 60s Live has staged more than 200 shows and sold nearly 250,000 tickets. It is promoted in the UK by Senbla.

Leo Green, managing director of The Showtime Group, said: “The Showtime Group has grown out of formats and productions that have been built and proven over a number of years. A deep musical analysis of online streaming data, coupled with the experience of standing on stage and looking an audience in the eye for the last four decades, has shown there is a real appetite for concerts where the songs are the star: great music, great entertainment and great musicianship.

“This next phase is about putting the structures around those ideas so we can scale them properly. With the backing of Antamar, we now have the opportunity to develop a portfolio of live entertainment IP that can work across venues, promoters, festivals, concert series, orchestras and rights-holders, without losing the creative quality that made the performances connect and engage with audiences in the first place.”

A spokesperson for Antamar Capital Partners Limited said: “We are delighted to support The Showtime Group at what is a particularly exciting stage in its development. The business has demonstrated a rare combination of strong creative vision alongside the creation of genuinely repeatable entertainment formats with significant long-term potential.

“We believe the company is exceptionally well positioned to develop scalable intellectual property within the live music and entertainment sector, supported by robust operational systems and a growing portfolio of distinctive audience-focused productions.”

The expansion also brings in Matthew Ballinger as finance director. Ballinger is the founder and former owner of FuseMetrix, a cloud-based ERP and operational management platform used across sectors including attractions, leisure and events including Silverstone Circuits, Go Ape, Zip World and iFly Indoor Skydiving.

The company’s flagship format, Icons Orchestral, places iconic repertoire at the centre of a premium live concert experience, using specialist arrangers, featured players, vocalists, strings, horns and rhythm sections.

Icons Orchestral has already launched through a residency at the London Palladium, with concerts celebrating the music of David Bowie, The Rolling Stones and others.
