Following two sold-out shows this week on her Tension world tour, Kylie Minogue has made history at the AO Arena in Manchester by becoming the female solo artist to make the most appearances in the venue’s history.
Kylie Minogue’s 33 performances at the AO Arena secured her place among an elite group of record-holding artists and entertainers including Peter Kay, Take That, Rick Astley and Beyoncé.
Over the years, Minogue has sold more than 500,000 tickets at the Manchester venue alone.
Gemma Vaughan, general manager of the AO Arena, said: "It's an honour to have hosted Kylie at the AO Arena, and celebrating her becoming our most played Female Solo Artist in our venue's history. It's a credit to our heritage and our long-standing relationship with our industry partners that we're able to share such amazing moments with the millions of fans that pass through our doors each year.”
She added: “As we celebrate our 30th anniversary this year, it's important to us to look back at all of the wonderful things we've achieved, but also look forward to the future, too. Our recent £60 million redevelopment has revolutionised our artist and fan experience, so here's to 30 more years of being in the heart of the city, here in Manchester. And of course, here’s to Kylie, too!”
