KMJ Entertainment has announced that Mark Mackie (pictured) has been appointed director of special projects.

He has been promoted from his CEO position at Regular Music to a new role supporting the wider KMJ group, including Kilimanjaro Live, Regular Music, Singular Artists and the Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival.

Mackie will also continue to promote the many artists he has built close relationships with over the years.

John Stout, who has been a promoter with Regular Music for over 15 years, has been promoted to the role of CEO at Regular Music.

Stuart Galbraith, CEO of KMJ Entertainment & Kilimanjaro Live, said: “The Regular Music team are major promoters within the KMJ Entertainment Group, using their combined expertise in the live music and entertainment sectors in Scotland to bring unparalleled live shows to Scottish audiences. I’m delighted to have this opportunity to share Mark Mackie’s 40 years of experience with the wider KMJ Group, where his new role as director of special projects will be invaluable in creating and delivering our ambitious programme of live shows and events across the whole UK & Ireland.

“With John Stout stepping up and taking over the CEO role at Regular Music, I am confident we have the right leadership in place to continue the growth of our Regular Music business in Scotland and achieve even more success for all our clients. John is very well known and respected within the industry, and I’m delighted that he has agreed to this new challenge. These new appointments for Mark and John are key for KMJ Entertainment and I am looking forward to our shared success.”

Emerging from the late ’70s punk and new wave scene, Regular Music is Scotland’s longest established and most respected concert promoter, presenting over 300 concerts throughout Scotland each year.

Staging a week-long programme of concerts to 8,500 visitors at Edinburgh Castle each July, Regular Music promotes both the Summer Nights At The Bandstand series at the 2,500-capacity Kelvingrove Bandstand and its sister festival, the 6,000-capacity Summer Nights On The Southside in Glasgow every summer.

Regular Music promotes live music across the whole of Scotland, from club shows to theatres and arenas. Primarily a live music promoter, it also promotes comedy, spoken word and theatre shows.

Part of the KMJ Entertainment group, Regular Music stages concerts for a broad range of international artists including Patti Smith, Bon Iver and Gillian Welch & David Rawlings, and is also the promoter for Scottish talent including The Proclaimers, Primal Scream, Del Amitri, Marti Pellow, Garbage and Mogwai.

Forthcoming Regular Music shows include Stereophonics, Bob Dylan, Ludovico Einaudi, The Mary Wallopers, Ocean Colour Scene and Echo And The Bunnymen.
