Faber Music marks 60th anniversary with stage at Latitude Festival

Faber Alt has unveiled a new collaboration with Latitude Festival and BBC Introducing.

The new stage at the Lavish Lounge Arena is set to feature “genre-defying performances” and exclusive sets at Henham Park (July 24-27) according to the announcement.

Music Week first revealed the partnership last month.

Faber Alt – the independent music publisher  and division of Faber Music – will team up with BBC Introducing to co-curate a new programme in the festival’s iconic Lavish Lounge.

Melvin Benn, Latitude founder and festival director, said: “The Lavish Lounge has long been a home for discovery and breakthrough talent at Latitude. Welcoming Faber Alt into that space alongside our continued partnership with BBC Introducing is exactly the kind of collaboration Latitude exists for – one that brings bold ideas, fresh energy and exceptional talent to the fore.”

Ed Marquis, creative manager at Faber Alt, said: “We at Faber Alt are super-excited to be welcomed to Latitude, alongside BBC Introducing, at the Lavish Lounge Arena. It's a big moment for us – Faber Alt is built on the brilliant creativity and independence of our songwriters and artists. It's set to be a beautiful weekend of live performance, and we can't wait to see you there!”

The Lavish Lounge will this year host the Faber Alt & BBC Introducing Stage.

The Faber Alt stage line-up includes: Keaton Henson, Kloyd, Avawaves, Supalung, Seckou Keita (pictured), Sam Brookes, Tessa Rose Jackson, Jakl, George Boomsma Band, Ayanna Witter-Johnson, Sophie Jamieson and Wyldest.

BBC Introducing’s acts on the Lavish Lounge stage will include Shelly, Shaggy FX, Ellie Dixon, Ralph Taylor, Monster Florence, and more.

Angelle Joseph, BBC Introducing, said: “BBC Introducing is all about spotlighting new music and giving artists the chance to be heard. To bring that spirit to such a unique, creative space like the Lavish Lounge is incredibly exciting. This line-up reflects the rich diversity and talent rising across our region right now, and I can’t wait for Latitude’s audience to discover these voices for themselves.”

Previous partners in the Lavish Lounge have included BBC Radio 1Xtra and BBC Asian Network.

Faber Alt is the home of alternative, crossover writers and artists – a division within independent music publisher Faber Music, who this year celebrate their 60th anniversary.

Started by Lucy Holliday and Catherine Grieves, Faber Alt has represented Alfa Mist, Lara Somogyi, Phoria, Keaton Henson, Henry Green, Nubiyan Twist and Antony Szmierek
