Your Army ups Jay Ahmed to head of promotions

Your Army has elevated Jay Ahmed to the new role of head of promotions. He will now be heading up the DJ, UK radio, international radio and third party playlist departments.

The promotions company said that the promotion “recognises his significant contributions to the company and the wider music industry”. Your Army is nominated in the Promotions Team Of The Year category at the Music Week Awards next month.

Since joining Your Army seven years ago as a national radio plugger, Ahmed has been a driving force behind numerous campaigns across radio, DJ and third party playlist promotions. He has led campaigns for a diverse roster of artists, including Bicep Barry Can’t Swim, Sub Focus, A Little Sound, Salute, LF System and Kilimanjaro, among others.

In his new role, Ahmed will oversee the full spectrum of Your Army’s promotion operations. He will be responsible for shaping global promotional strategy, identifying emerging opportunities, and continuing to build strong relationships across media, artist management, and label partners.

“I still feel incredibly privileged to have turned my love for music into my career,” said Jay Ahmed, head of promotions. “Having come from the dancefloor, and being on Your Army’s DJ promo list myself, stepping into this position really is a full-circle moment. I’m excited for what’s to come as we remain at the forefront of promotions. Massive thanks to the entire Your Army team for the support and development, and to our incredible roster for their continued trust.”

“This promotion reflects Your Army’s commitment to recognising and nurturing talent within its own ranks, and underscores the company’s continued growth as one of the world’s leading music promotion agencies,” said a statement.

“Big congratulations to Jay – he’s worked incredibly hard, stayed calm under pressure, and brought real passion to everything he does,” said Christian Nockall, director. “His appetite for discovering new music and breaking artists has been a driving force behind many of our campaigns. He leads with integrity and care, and we’re excited to see him continue to thrive in this new role.”
