Y Royalties makes landmark hire with chief technology and AI officer Paritosh Dagar

Y Royalties has appointed Paritosh Dagar as chief technology and AI officer (CTAO).

In a statement, the music rights and royalty services company described the CTAO appointment as a “pivotal hire that signals the company’s commitment to placing technology and AI at the core of its future”.

Paritosh has nearly 20 years of experience leading large-scale technology transformation programmes across financial services, media, pharmaceuticals and consumer sectors.

He will work across both Y Royalties and CC Young & Co, with a remit to develop and enhance the data infrastructure, systems and tools that will define the next generation of music royalty management.

Paritosh has spent a major part of his career at KPMG leading complex technology transformations for some of the largest organisations in the UK and globally. Before KPMG, he held roles at PwC and Grant Thornton, qualifying as a chartered accountant in 2009.

His appointment as CTAO represents Y Royalties' most senior technology hire to date.

“In his new role, Paritosh will build on existing foundations to drive transformational growth,” said a statement. “He will shape how music, rights, and royalty data is harnessed across both businesses – building practical tools that enable clients to understand what they are owed, recover missing value, manage rights efficiently, and make informed decisions. His appointment comes at a critical moment, as advances in AI begin to radically alter how music is created, distributed and monetised.”

"I chose to join Y Royalties after meeting Colin and the leadership team because I share their vision for the company and the music industry,” said Paritosh Dagar. “Advances in technology and AI offer a significant opportunity to make royalty management clearer, faster, and more valuable for artists, songwriters, managers, investors, and rights-holders.

“As AI transforms how music is created, used and monetised, protecting creators' rights and ensuring fair recognition and value is more important than ever. Y Royalties has the ambition, expertise, and mindset to lead this change, and I am excited to help shape its future.”

Colin Young, director of Y Royalties and CC Young, added: "We are on a journey, and we have a determined desire to evolve and enhance our data platform capability, improve its analytic function, and ensure the successful deployment of those capabilities at every level. From data ingestion and normalisation, to analysis and valid interpretation, we are committed to progression from top to bottom. That requires the best in each class. I am delighted to welcome Paritosh."
