World Go Round label launches with Believe distribution partnership

World Go Round, a newly launched global record label and artist collective founded by British-South African music executive Dan Roy Carter, has made its official debut.

The label launches with a global digital distribution partnership with Believe. It aims to develop “genre-blending artists from across the world”, according to a statement.

World Go Round’s first signings include Zimbabwean producer Verseless, known for collaborations with Burna Boy, Shingai and Shermanology, and rising vocalist M.I.L.E. They are joined by Ugandan Afrobeats artist Dolv Gvng and Dutch/Caribbean artist and producer Nvjee, expanding the label’s growing international roster.

The label’s first release, Sorbet by Verseless and Simba Tagz, will drop on June 27, 2025, set to be followed by a series of singles from the artist/producer scheduled for 2025. It will be followed by M.I.L.E’s Sunday, released on July 18, billed as a fusion of neo soul, R&B and amapiano.

Founder Dan Roy Carter, former UK/EU/MENA music lead at TikTok, said: “There’s a lot of attention on music from the African continent, but not enough infrastructure to support sustained global careers. Too often, the industry takes more than it gives back and boxes entire regions as ‘emerging markets.’ Africa isn’t emerging. It’s already here, and the world is listening. We see this same pattern play out in multiple territories, and I feel equipped to help address it with intention and action.

“We are building a platform that takes artist development seriously. Artists like M.I.L.E and Verseless are blending regional sounds with global influences to tell stories of resilience, diaspora and evolution. They’re not chasing trends. They’re creating space for something deeper from a territory often overlooked.”

He added: “I’ve seen how music travels. A regional sound can be a postcard from home or a window into another world. If the story is honest and the music is strong, it resonates. For us, ‘music for the world’ means building globally from day one. With Believe as our distributor and a tight global operational team, we’re giving these artists and records the best shot at lasting impact.”

The label has also partnered with British-Ghanaian photographer and creative director Chantal Azari, who will lead the visual identity across all artwork.

Panos Polimatidis, director of artist & label solutions UK at Believe, said: “We’re delighted to partner with World Go Round. Dan has consistently demonstrated an ability to cut through the noise and build meaningful momentum for artists in the digital space. The synergy between Believe’s deep digital expertise and international reach creates a unique launchpad for World Go Round’s artists. We’re excited to support impactful, long-term success for the roster.”

Further signings from Sub-Saharan Africa, the Netherlands and the UK will be announced throughout the year.

World Go Round’s core team operates across Southern Africa, the UK and the United States. Launch events, writing camps and industry panels are scheduled across Amsterdam, London, Zimbabwe and Cape Town between Q3 and Q4 2025.

In 2024, Carter launched consultancy Carter Projects, advising acts including James Bay, Snow Patrol, Jax Jones and Label Worx across digital strategy, audience development and commercial growth.
