'We feel honoured to have him': Colin Batsa welcomes Clavish to EGA Distro

EGA Distro has signed Clavish, with CEO Colin Batsa telling Music Week that the rapper has “superstar”potential.

“This is an important day at EGA Distro as this is an important artist in our culture,” said Batsa. “We believe there are only a few potential UK rap superstars and Clavish is one of them. We feel honoured to have him signing to EGA Distro and for us to carry on our legacy of signing the premier talent in UK hip-hop."

Previously signed to Polydor, Clavish hit No.4 with 2023 debut mixtape Rap Game Awful, which has 110,939 sales, according to the Official Charts Company.

The Londoner hit No.9 with D-Block Europe collaboration Rocket Science (396,356 sales), while their jointly credited 2023 hit Pakistan (405,857 sales) peaked at No.8. They are now side by side on the EGA Distro roster. Clavish's biggest selling solo single is Greece with 254,111 sales, while he has four others with over 100,000 sales.

Clavish released his second mixtape, Chapter 16, last year and his first release with EGA is due this week.

“Released on Thursday and titled Red Riding Hood, this song marks the start of an exciting new phase for Clavish,” said EGA Distro GM Ali Neale. “This is his first release via EGA Distro and the start of a run of singles to come through the summer. The music he has coming is phenomenal and we are excited for people to see his growth as we build throughout 2025 towards his new project.”

"This ain’t like before I hope my non-believers sit tight,” Clavish said. “This is a new chapter at EGA Distro as an independent artist."

EGA Distro won the Independent Record Company at the Music Week Awards last year and is shortlisted in four categories for the 2025 event, which takes place at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House London on May 8.
