Polydor Label Group is celebrating a new chart record with this week’s No.1 result for Rein Me In by Sam Fender and Olivia Dean.
The track’s 35-week ascent to the top spot marks the longest consecutive run in the Top 40 before reaching No.1, surpassing Ed Sheeran’s 19-week climb with Thinking Out Loud in 2014.
The platinum-certified single was born from a collaboration between PLG’s Polydor Records (Fender) and Capitol UK (Dean), bridging two major campaigns at a pivotal moment.
Rein Me In has spent 18 weeks in the Top 10, 34 weeks in the Top 20, and has now become Fender’s first ever UK No.1 single (and Dean’s second). It reached the top of the Irish charts last week.
Ben Mortimer, president, Polydor Label Group, said: “The slow-burn rise of Rein Me In has been deeply satisfying to watch. From the moment the song had its live debut at London Stadium last summer, it was clear it had real magic about it. But it’s simply taken a life of its own in the last few weeks. Its success is testament to the quality of the song, and the wonderful performances by both Sam and Olivia.
“At Polydor Label Group, we count ourselves incredibly lucky to be working with two of the most important artists of their generation. And to have them united on one song together, reaching the milestone of a No.1 single together, is a phenomenal accomplishment.”

Dean also climbed to No.2 – a new peak – with So Easy (To Fall In Love) thanks in part to the release of heart-shaped red vinyl edition of the single for Valentine's Day. Former No.1 Man I Need rebounded 8-4, while A Couple Minutes – her third permitted track as primary artist under chart rules in addition to the Fender collaboration – continued inside the Top 20. It is the first time she has placed three songs in the Top 5.
The No.1 result follows Olivia Dean’s Grammy win for Best New Artist. She jointly leads this year’s BRIT Awards nominations with five nods, and will perform at the Manchester ceremony later this month.

Dean’s platinum-certified album The Art Of Loving debuted at No.1, securing a chart double alongside Man I Need. Dean also became the first British female solo artist to place four songs simultaneously in the UK Top 10.
Sam Fender broke through 10 million monthly Spotify listeners for the first time this week. People Watching became the fastest-selling album by a UK act in 2025, outselling the rest of the Top 10 combined in its first week. The record was certified platinum within 12 months of release, earned Fender four BRIT Award nominations and delivered four UK Top 20 singles.
For PLG, Rein Me In is its first UK No.1 single of 2026 so far.
In 2025, PLG spent 12 weeks at No.1 on the albums chart and nine weeks at No.1 on the singles chart. It had the strongest showing of any label group in the UK Top 20 bestsellers of 2025, with six albums and seven singles.
Across the group, PLG holds three BRIT nominations for Artist Of The Year, more than any other label, and four Song Of The Year nods.
