Pete Black launches promotions and management firm Yorba

Pete Black has returned to working in recorded music and with artists following a spell as a broadcasting executive at Bauer Media Audio UK.

He has recently launched Yorba, a promotions and management company.

Black served as director of music across their radio brands: Kiss, Hits, Magic, Absolute, Planet Rock, Kerrang, Jazz and Scala.

Prior to moving to Bauer in 2022, he oversaw the strategy and ran the promotions teams for all the joint-venture labels across Sony Music UK including Black Butter, Ministry Of Sound, Relentless and Insanity, alongside The Orchard UK distribution business.

Prior to this, he ran press and promotions at Columbia Records, overseeing campaigns for Harry Styles, Foo Fighters, Kings Of Leon, George Ezra, Rag’n’Bone Man, ASAP Rocky, 21 Savage, Dylan, Depeche Mode and more.

"I'm excited to launch Yorba, the next chapter in my career,” said Black. “It's great to be back in promotions and also to me managing incredible emerging talent. I believe in the power of radio to connect artists to audiences. Radio not only lets audiences hear artists' music but it has the power to connect audiences with an artist's narrative and personality.

“TV moments, whether that's Later…, Graham Norton, or Glastonbury have the power to forge a strong emotional connection between the artist and the audience.”

“My unique experience of having worked in promotions at major labels [Warner, Columbia], artist services [The Orchard] and radio [Bauer Media] gives me a unique understanding of both artists and media needs, so I can deliver strategic plans and execute the best results possible,” added Black.

Promotions clients include Bruce Springsteen, Sports Team, Kenny Hoopla, Teni, Sam Ryder, Jaed, Rosie Frater-Taylor, The Jacques, Michael Buble, Jet and La Roux.

On the management side, Black represents Cameron Hayes and Zion B. Zion B has just released the first single from his mixtape with 10K Projects. Following collaborations, Hayes is launching a new recording project.
