'On to my next chapter': Cassandra Gracey exits 4th Floor Creative

Cassandra Gracey, the highly-respected and multiple award-winning president of Sony 4th Floor Creative, has announced her exit from the company.

In a heartfelt message posted today (July 25) on Instagram, Gracey stated that “no words” could express what her time at the company has meant to her.

“We built something bold, original, best-in-class – we did it together,” Gracey wrote. “From unforgettable creative breakthroughs to dozens of awards Music Week/Clio / VMAs / Webby / BIMA / British Podcast Awards – and yes, lots & lots of balloons – we made magic.”

Gracey won Businesswoman Of The Year at the 2021 Music Week Women In Music Awards, with everyone from Hugh Jackman, Pink, Robbie Williams, Ellie Goulding and Little Mix’s Jade Thirlwall all paying tribute to the executive.

She first became president of Sony Music UK’s newly-created 4th Floor Creative group in 2018, having previously worked in a number of roles in the music industry, including a near 20-year stint in management at Sarah Stennett’s Turn First Artists/First Access Entertainment, latterly as EVP, UK and Europe, where she worked closely with artists such as the Sugababes, Conor Maynard, Iggy Azalea, Rita Ora and Ellie Goulding.

4th Floor have been incredibly successful, not least with multiple wins at the Music Week Awards – including this year’s win for Music & Brand Partnership via Tom Grennan’s The Best A Man Can Get campaign

In her Instagram message Gracey also thanked a number of people who played a role in her career.

“Huge thanks to Jason [Iley, Sony Music UK & Ireland chairman & CEO] for the support and for backing the evolving vision,” she wrote. “From Tom Grennan’s rise to arenas, Joy Crookes x Lexus, Jade’s iconic award winning Angel Of My Dreams video, Mariah x Walkers, George Ezra Roblox concert, LM5 film, launch of Bad Bones Films, CGP’s best in class – The Dish, SETV – Brian Johnson On the Road – we did it all through the passion and brilliance of this team.”

Gracey concluded: “Thank you to every teammate, Sony colleague, artist, manager, client & partner. I take my final bow full of gratitude and so overwhelmed by your messages!”
