The music industry is coming together to celebrate the life of Jim Fletcher.
The Columbia marketing executive died in 2011 aged just 33.
Friends and family will celebrate his life with a cricket match on September 11, as well as food and refreshments. It will take place at East Molesey Cricket Club (KT8 9AL) from 6pm.
The venue is just a 10-minute walk from Hampton Court Train Station, which is easily accessible from Waterloo.
The event will also serve as an opportunity to raise money for Crohn’s & Colitis UK, as Jim Fletcher battled with Colitis during his life. A link to the JustGiving page is here.
“Jim is the perfect example for so many of us of why we work in this industry – how a teenager with a dream can end up working with acts they always loved,” said Got Your Back director Dave Rajan. “He was a wonderful man and brilliant marketeer in the music industry and huge lover of music. He was great friends with the Manic Street Preachers and worked on many of their albums when he was at Columbia. He created many brilliant marketing and promotion campaigns for Sony’s biggest acts.”

Jim Fletcher was a passionate cricket fan, and after his funeral an impromptu game of cricket was played.
“The funeral itself was so packed full of those who loved and missed him that many were standing by the doors, round the walls, even outside,” said Rajan. “Afterwards, artists and music industry friends and colleagues, along with Jim’s oldest friends and family joined together in a beautiful little village cricket green beside a pub to celebrate Jim with a relaxed game.
“Jim knew so many people across the music industry, and we would love for you to join us in sharing your love and memories of him.”
