HMV reports BRITs boost for Ezra Collective, Myles Smith, Charli XCX and more

HMV has reported a BRITs boost for winners and nominees.

TV ratings for the ceremony were stable at 2.5 million.

Ezra Collective, who won Group Of The Year and performed with guest star Jora Smith, have seen a huge sales boost across their catalogue at HMV.

Demand for the UK jazz group’s physical music catalogue soared 1,333% across the entertainment retailer’s stores and online. The comparison is for week-on-week sales.

Myles Smith, winner of the BRITs Rising Star award, experienced a 308% jump for his A Minute… EP, which includes hits Stargazing and Nice to Meet You.

Charli XCX, the night’s big winner with five awards, saw a 109% increase in sales for the Brat remix album.

Rachel Chinouriri, who was nominated for Best New Artist and Artist Of The Year, experienced a 450% surge in sales week-on-week.

Despite missing out on the award for International Group of the Year, Amyl & The Sniffers – who were acknowledged by winners Fontaines DC – saw a 400% rise in sales of their catalogue in HMV’s shops and online.

Following his BRITs performance, Teddy Swims has seen a 192% increase in sales across his catalogue at HMV. It comes ahead of his UK tour later in the month.

Phil Halliday, managing director at HMV and Fopp, said: “The BRIT Awards 2025 showcased the very best of British music, celebrating an eclectic mix of talent and introducing incredible artists to new audiences. The success of this year’s winners has led to a boost in sales at HMV, as fans continue to be inspired by the performances on the night, support homegrown talent and celebrate British music’s impact on the global stage.”
