Distillery II Studios in Bristol – part of Distiller Music Group – has showcased their new Airsound Spatial System at a launch event.
It featured a curated showcase of music, sound design and visuals from film soundtracks, gaming and audiobooks, all presented in Dolby Atmos 7.1.4. The event featured exclusive material from producer and composer Emre Ramazanoglu and a specially curated experience from We Are Audio.
Distillery II now provides a first-of-its-kind Atmos spatial sound playback environment, using a brand new system developed by Daniel Fletcher.
The team at Distillery II, a venue combining a high-end recording studio with a live performance space, aimed to transform their live room into a flexible audio space capable of delivering immersive spatial sound.
The system now facilitates album launches, Dolby Atmos showcases, private listening sessions, and live spatial audio playback during recording sessions.
The launch event was attended by Dom Morley (producer), Ali Staton (Atmos Mixer), Neil Davidge (writer/composer), Adrian Hall (producer), Dave Eringa (producer) and Warren Huart (Produce Like a Pro).
Andy Leese, studio business manager at Distillery II, said: “The Airsound Spatial system has added another dimension to our studio. We have recently installed a rail system for the main PA speakers which means we can instantly switch from a band rehearsal/performance set up to an event environment, which is unique from a recording studio point of view. The feedback from all who attended our launch event was so positive.’
Daniel Fletcher, founder CEO, Airsound, said: “The new live room installation at Distillery II of Airsound technology takes immersive audio to a completely new scale and level of immersion. What started as an exploration has evolved into a breathtaking installation and experience, and I have to thank the team at Distillery II for supporting my vision of truly immersive and high-performance audio.”
Emre Ramazanoglu, who recorded a track at Distillery II specifically for the event, said: “Distillery II is an unbelievable installation, massive in scope and with everything you could need to make great records.”
