Chrysalis Records promotes Tina McBye to SVP of commercial music operations

Chrysalis Records has promoted Tina McBye to the position of senior vice president, commercial music operations.

Based in the company’s London offices, McBye will report directly to Alison Wenham, chief operating officer.

In her new role, which is effective immediately, she will continue to lead commercial music operations for the company across the wider group and all of its divisions including Blue Raincoat Music, Blue Raincoat Artists and associated labels, including New State and Tommy Boy.

Tina McBye joined Chrysalis (part of Reservoir) in early 2023 to lead the launch of the commercial music operations team. Since then, she has built a comprehensive department that supports a growing release schedule, catalogue acquisitions and oversees the management of neighbouring rights for the group’s labels under parent company Reservoir.

She has dedicated the majority of her career to date to  neighbouring rights, beginning her tenure at the collective management organisation PPL in 2009, where she spent eight years prior to its joint venture with PRS. She then moved to the organisation’s membership division, working across the international and member services departments.

She has made an enormous and transformative contribution to the development of our operations capability

Tina McBye said: “During the two years since I first joined the company I have seen our commercial operations develop into something really special, and remain committed to driving that growth on behalf of the company. I’m proud to be part of a special team of people who are all pulling in the same direction on behalf of the artists and labels we represent.”

Alison Wenham said: “In Tina, we identified someone with so much more to offer the industry than just neighbouring rights management. Since she joined the company, she has made an enormous and transformative contribution to the development of our operations capability. In this new role, as well as focusing her efforts on the Chrysalis Records roster, her remit will also include overseeing  and shaping  our approach to commercial music operations across the wider Blue Raincoat Group and I consider us very lucky to have her.”
