Capitol's Jo Charrington on Olivia Dean's 'landmark achievement' with platinum LP & her new US peak

Olivia Dean has secured a second consecutive week at No.1 on the albums chart with The Art Of Loving (Capitol).

As the UK singer-songwriter’s second album held on at the summit for a fourth non-consecutive week – with consumption up slightly to 17,141 units in the past seven days – The Art Of Loving reached platinum status in the UK. In its 15 weeks on the chart, Dean's album has never left the Top 5.

According to the Official Charts Company, Dean’s sophomore release has amassed consumption of 312,497 units to date (86,330 physical copies, 3,936 downloads and 222,231 sales-equivalent streams). It is the first album by a solo British female artist to spend two weeks in a row at No.1 since Adele’s 30 in 2021. Meanwhile, Dean's debut album Messy increased consumption by 3.9% week-on-week as it climbed 71-49 (122,860 sales to date).

Olivia Dean also continues to have three simultaneous Top 10 songs – So Easy (To Fall In Love) at No.5, Rein Me In with Sam Fender and No.6 and Man I Need at No.7. Based on the raw streaming data, Man I Need was actually the most consumed song of the week and would have been No.1 for the past fortnight but for OCC ACR rules.

It follows the new No.4 peak for The Art Of Loving on the US albums chart – and it could go higher in the next rundown according to projections. Overall US consumption of The Art Of Loving is 606,124 units as of January 2.

A landmark achievement from an incredible artist with the world at her feet

Jo Charrington

Jo Charrington, president at Capitol UK, said: “A phenomenal start to 2026 for Olivia. The Art Of Loving is now a platinum-selling record – a landmark achievement from an incredible artist with the world at her feet. Following a new peak in the US charts, Olivia has a huge year ahead both internationally and at home. Working alongside her brilliant Yo&Co management, we are excited for what’s to come as she continues to break new ground.”

As reported in Alan Jones’ charts analysis, the Grammy-nominated artist has six tracks in the US Hot 100, five of them reaching new peaks – notably Man I Need at No.4 and So Easy (To Fall In Love) at No.14.

Meanwhile, Dean continues to do the double on the Australian ARIA singles and albums chart with, respectively, Man I Need and The Art Of Loving both at No.1.
