Calum Scott honoured with BRIT Billion Award

UK singer-songwriter Calum Scott has been honoured with a BRIT Billion Award. The trophy recognises his achievement of surpassing one billion career streams in the UK alone.

The award was presented as a surprise by his mother, Debbie Scott, at Universal Music Group’s London HQ.

Among his streaming hits, Dancing On My Own leads the way with 330 million UK streams, followed by You Are The Reason on 260m streams.

Launched in 2023, the BRIT Billion Award celebrates artists who have reached a billion UK streams across their catalogue. Calum Scott now joins an elite group of more than 40 recipients, including Queen, Whitney Houston, the Rolling Stones and ABBA, as well as contemporary superstars such as Lewis Capaldi, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, Camila Cabello and Raye.

The BRIT Billion honour reflects the impact of streaming on the music industry. Around 85% of the UK’s recorded music consumption is through streaming, with 2023 seeing a record 180 billion audio streams.

Each year, more than 2,000 artists achieve over 10 million streams in the UK alone, while over 10,000 are streamed more than a million times, showcasing the scale and diversity of modern music listening.

Calum Scott said: “It’s an absolute honour to receive the BRIT Billion Award. To be recognised and sit alongside such incredible artists that I grew up listening to feels very surreal – to have it presented by my mum, who has been the biggest supporter in my career, made it even more special. I’m so grateful to all my fans and everyone who has been with me since the beginning and I’m excited to see everyone on tour later this year.”

Calum Scott will be releasing his new album, Avenoir, on September 12 via EMI.

The Avenoir Tour will head to arenas in the UK (including OVO Arena Wembley) and Europe in the autumn, followed by shows in North America in 2026.
