BRITs artists see chart impact with Top 10 results for Charli XCX, Myles Smith and Lola Young

The BRIT Awards has made an impact on this week’s charts across UK and international talent.

Charli XCX, the big winner on the night with five awards, has returned to the Top 10 with her No.1 album Brat. Although she didn’t perform, the TV coverage has helped the Atlantic artist’s album surge in consumption by 25.5% week-on-week and climb 13-10. It has sales to date of 348,573 (Official Charts Company).

Charli XCX’s Guess (Feat. Billie Eilish), which was named Song Of The Year, has seen a consumption boost of 14.6% (moving 31-24).

BRITs Rising Star winner and performer Myles Smith has seen a massive boost for his single Nice To Meet You (147.9%) as it returned to the Top 10, surging from No.53 to No.8. Smith’s Stargazing leaped 66-43 with consumption up 27.5%. His A Minute EP… returned to the Top 75.

Lola Young’s former No.1 Messy rebounds 9-7 (2.8% consumption increase) following her BRITs performance of the global smash. Her second album, This Wasn’t Meant For You Anyway, has now cracked the Top 20 following the release of vinyl variants and a CD edition.

Best Pop winner Jade sees her debut solo single Angel Of My Dreams (which she performed at the ceremony) re-enter the chart for the first time in four months (No.45, consumption up 302.7%).

While the BRITs is largely a celebration of domestic talent, international stars have ended up at No.1 in the wake of the Saturday night ceremony on ITV1/ITVX.

As she tours the UK, Sabrina Carpenter’s album Short N’ Sweet has returned to No.1 in its fourth non-consecutive week at the summit (3.2% increase). Consumption to date is 512,955 units. It follows her opening show performance of Bed Chem (21-19, consumption up 16.4%) and Espresso at the BRITs and the Global Success Award win.

In the singles chart, Chappell Roan has landed her first No.1 with Pink Pony Club (38,646 units, up 6.9%). Total consumption stands at 658,425.

The single, first released in 2020, has seen a steady rise from 4-3-2-1, so its appearance at the summit was always likely – but a double win at the BRITs may have helped the margin of victory for Roan. The Rise And Fall Of A Midwest Princess album was down 7-9, but with consumption up 3%.

Steve Pitron, senior vice president, Island EMI Label Group, international, said: “2025 is already Chappell Roan’s year," Steve Pitron, senior vice president, Island EMI Label Group, international. "After picking up two BRIT awards last week, it’s fantastic to see Pink Pony Club hit the No.1 spot in the singles chart, with a song originally released back in April 2020, proving that Chappell’s music is utterly timeless. While The Rise And Fall Of A Midwest Princess remains inside the Top 10 albums chart for a staggering 38th week, more and more people are discovering her music for the first time, and with new single The Giver dropping next week, #chappellmania is set to further take hold in the UK. Congratulations to Chappell, Justin and Imran at Island US, Mike Alexander, Steven Rowen and the brilliant international team. We are very proud that such a special and truly inspirational artist is part of the Island UK family.”

Teddy Swims’ BRITs medley delivered a boost across his three singles chart entries – Bad Dreams (16-10, up 10.8%), Lose Control (41-32, up 14.1%) and The Door (48-41, up 15.4%).

Swims’ two albums are also up with a significant consumption increase: I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy – Pt2 (35-21, up 64.7%) and I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy – Pt1 (53-30, up 71.0%).
