ADA president Cat Kreidich steps down after four years

ADA president Cat Kreidich has informed staff she is leaving Warner Music’s distribution business after four years at the helm.

In a memo to staff seen by Music Week, Cat Kreidich wrote that “the foundation we've established will continue to serve independent artists effectively”.

Describing herself as an “indie advocate” for two decades, Kreidich has yet to confirm her next move.

In a staff memo, Warner Music CEO Robert Kyncl said there would be further news this week on a new appointment at ADA.

Kreidich joined Warner Music’s ADA from The Orchard in 2021. She was previously at ADA from 2007 to 2011 as director of digital sales and marketing.

During the last four years, she oversaw label deals with Three Six Zero and Rostrum Records, as well as artist signings Paris Hilton, Banks, Kesha and Flume.

Chart successes included Sonny Fodera landing the UK's biggest-selling independent single with Somedays. ADA was also the distribution partner for Central Cee as a breakout artist.

During her spell in charge, ADA targeted global expansion including in partnership with Sua Musica (Brazil), Qanawat and Rotana (Middle East), Divo (India) and Africori (Africa).

“We built an exceptional global team and expanded our global release volume, revitalised our brand identity, and developed a digital platform specifically designed for independent artists and labels within the Warner supply chain,” Kreidich wrote to ADA colleagues. “We made strategic acquisitions like RSDL, which Warner will go on to use to help fuel their entire recorded music business.

“To the ADA labels and artists who keep the heart of this industry beating: thank you for your dedication, creativity, and passion. I've been inspired by your relentless drive and your vision. You champion creativity, and prove that independence doesn't mean going it alone – it means doing it your way.”

“Cat is a class act,” wrote Robert Kyncl. “A bold thinker and decisive leader, she’s always focused on what’s best for the indie community – its artists, its labels, and its spirit. Under her leadership, ADA has grown its relationships across the creative ecosystem, expanded its global reach, and strengthened its team and tech. She’s helped guide us through some major shifts, staying agile, and delivering results.”
