Absolute Label Services signs singer-songwriter Billy Lockett

Absolute Label Services has signed UK singer-songwriter Billy Lockett for his new studio album.

The deal will see Absolute release Things Are Looking Up via Lockett Records on May 22, 2026.

It follows Lockett’s publishing deal with Notting Hill Music last year.

Managed by Rockstar Management (Jamie Cullum, Ferris & Sylvester), Lockett’s career spans more than a decade. His viral audition on ITV’s The Voice led to a spot supporting McFly at a sold-out The O2 show.

His debut album, Abington Grove, saw Radio 2 playlisting and Spotify playlist features, including Coffee + Chill and Everyday Favourites.

Billy Lockett has landed over 25 placements on Love Island alone, and was the featured sync on Sky’s coverage of the 2025 Golfing Masters, as well as the audio accompaniment to the premiership rugby in 2022.

He was a featured vocalist with Dimension on the hit Love To Give (25 million streams) and, more recently, with drum and bass artist Goddard on Drowning Mind (20 million streams) and Live For Nothing (400,000 streams).

Lockett has played support slots for Scouting For Girls, Lana Del Rey, Lewis Capaldi, Jamie Cullum, Sam Ryder, Anson Seabra and James Arthur, leading to his first European tour and his largest sold out UK tour to date in 2025.

Festival appearances include Glastonbury, F1 Grand Prix, BST Hyde Park and Latitude.

I have been following Billy since he turned up on the nation's screens in the miraculous way he did, and have been hooked on his brand of relatability and online connection ever since

Lockett’s social media presence has been a major driver of his success, with 45,000 followers on Instagram and 20,000+ on TikTok, including viral videos with over 200,000 views.

With first single Out Of The Blue having been released on February 15, pre-orders for the new album went live on February 26 along with tickets for a headline UK tour.

Rockstar Management’s Jenny Carroll said: “We are stoked to be working alongside Absolute Label Services on this spectacular Billy Lockett album, Things Are Looking Up. Billy has grafted so hard on this record, having self-penned, self-engineered, self-produced and mixed the album himself from his home studio. It’s more than a personal album, it's been Billy’s whole world for the last two years where he has mentally and physically enveloped all his ambition, education and perspective into one body of work.

“Having Absolute on board to enable Billy as a label owner and artist feels right, particularly with this release. Working with Mark [Dowling – marketing director, Absolute], Kate [Hendry – head of label operations, Absolute] and their team we feel like we’re in good hands.”

Kate Hendry, Absolute’s head of label operations, said: “I have been following Billy since he turned up on the nation's screens in the miraculous way he did, and have been hooked on his brand of relatability and online connection ever since. I feel that Absolute provides an ideal infrastructure partnership in all the right ways for his new label business and musical career. I’m confident this album is his best yet, his fanbase has been so well attended throughout his career by his genuine, true self, and I can’t wait to see what lies ahead for the campaign.”

Absolute’s current and recent client base ranges from developing talent such as The Reytons, Immi Dash and Edbl to established names including Scouting For Girls, Louise, Alison Goldfrapp, Alice Cooper, Hybrid Minds, Thousand Foot Crutch, Sea Power, Mica Paris, Bananarama, The Damned, PP Arnold, Kaiser Chiefs, Feeder and Busted.
