Absolute Label Services appoints Paul Purcell as director of platform

Absolute Label Services has appointed Paul Purcell as director of platform, with a primary focus on the company’s recently revealed Anthology portal.

Purcell has joined Absolute from Fuga, where he served as director of client integrations.

In his new role, he will oversee the continued development and rollout of Anthology while also working across Absolute’s broader business and platform strategy.

“His appointment underscores Absolute’s commitment to Anthology and its strategic importance to the company’s future growth,” said a statement.

Absolute has also made three key promotions across both its tech and finance departments: Thomas Osgood has moved up from chief technical architect to director of engineering; Isaac Kalil has been promoted from senior developer to lead engineer; and Kallina Jelfs has been upped to director of finance, having previously been head of finance.

Absolute unveiled Anthology in June 2025. The platform is an AI-enhanced software solution designed to give independent music businesses industry-leading rights management, analytics and distribution infrastructure.

Currently deployed in-house at Absolute Label Services and used by the company’s clients, Anthology will be made available to the wider industry as a standalone platform later this year.

Absolute director Simon Wills said: “Paul’s appointment underscores our unwavering commitment to delivering Anthology as a best-in-class offering for the wider industry. His deep understanding of this space and his respected reputation make him an invaluable addition to our team. We were thrilled to find that he was keen to join us after seeing what we have built, and we're excited to have him on board to help us elevate Anthology even further.”

Paul Purcell said: “When I saw Anthology for the first time, I was massively impressed. The versatility of the platform, in catering to music businesses of all kinds across verticals, was something that I had not seen before. Absolute continues to utilise Anthology with great success internally, and opening the platform up to the wider industry is an incredibly exciting prospect for me personally, for the company, and for the independent space as a whole. I’m delighted to be commencing this journey with Absolute and I look forward to providing a best in class product and service for our clients with Anthology.”
