Spotify subscribers hit 281 million in Q3

Spotify increased subscriber numbers by 12% year-on-year to 281 million in the third quarter of 2025.

In its latest earnings announcement, the streaming giant reported “strong momentum” with that double-digit subscriber growth and surpassing 700 million monthly active users (713m), an increase of 11% year-on-year.

Total revenue increased 12% year-on-year in constant currency to €4.3 billion. Operating Income reached €582m.

Premium revenue grew 13% year-on-year to €3.83 million in constant current. Average revenue per user (ARPU) of €4.53 was flat in terms of growth compared to the prior year quarter.

There was subscriber growth across all regions, with Latin America and North America outperforming forecasts.

From October, Spotify users were able to receive personalised music and podcast recommendations within ChatGPT. 

Spotify has partnered with majors and indies on developing artist-first AI music products. It has also revealed a series of expanded licensing deals with Sony Music Group, Merlin, BMG and Kobalt.
