Epidemic Sound has launched re/works by Epidemic Sound, a new global artist series.
Spotlighting musicians from around the world, the series begins with a Swedish edition focusing on the country’s heritage in music production.
An ongoing international initiative, re/works by Epidemic Sound invites artists to reimagine tracks from the Epidemic Sound catalogue, which will then live across streaming platforms and social media as well as being used by brands. Each edition will reflect the creative identity of a different music scene.
A UK launch of the series will follow in the autumn.
For the inaugural edition centred on Sweden, 10 Swedish artists have selected tracks from the catalogue. It features artists who have collectively amassed hundreds of millions of streams, including Kleerup (UK No.1 with Robyn on With Every Heartbeat) and Jenny Wilson (collaborated with The Knife on You Take My Breath Away).
The line-up is:
Kleerup
Silvana Imam
DJ Carpenter
Kerstin Ljungström
Adam Taal
Dan Lissvik
Jenny Wilson
Stella Explorer
Harrison First
“At a time when music creation is being reshaped by technology and AI, re/works by Epidemic Sound keeps human creativity front and centre, positioning artists as the driving force behind global cultural moments,” said a statement.
"This is all about the music,” said Oscar Höglund, CEO and co-founder of Epidemic Sound. “The quality of the artists involved and the originality of the reworks are what make it special. What re/works by Epidemic Sound does is connect that music to new audiences through the creators, brands, and platforms that have always been at the heart of what we do. Building on our Extra Version initiative, this is the next step in how Epidemic Sound helps great music travel further and become part of culture.”

"I’m impressed by the quality of Epidemic Sound's catalogue,” said Kerstin Ljungström. “It’s been a great creative process reworking music by talents such as Bonsaye, Ten Towers and Ryan James Carr. Knowing the music will reach an entirely new audience of content creators globally is incredibly inspiring. This programme recognises the true value of a rework – building cultural moments that spread quickly. It feels important to be part of an initiative that puts the Swedish music scene in focus."
Following initiatives such as Extra Version and The Bridge, Epidemic Sound continues to invest in its catalogue of over 50,000 tracks to support brands and creators with music.
The Extra Version programme, which featured DJs like Honey Dijon remixing tracks from the Epidemic Sound catalogue, amassed more than a billion views across YouTube and TikTok within the first six months.
The Bridge, the company's mentorship programme, featured Johnny Marr from The Smiths and Richie Hawtin.
The first tracks by DJ Carpenter, Kerstin Ljungström and Adam Taal (pictured) will premiere at the re/works by Epidemic Sound launch event at Soho House in Stockholm on February 12.
Kerstin Ljungström has reworked tracks by Epidemic Sound artists Bonsaye, Ten Towers and Ryan James Carr. Meanwhile, Adam Taal has reworked tracks by LeDorean, Zorro and Vicki Vox, and DJ Carpenter has overhauled music by Ooyy, Dyalla and Baegel.
On February 13, the first tracks will be available in Epidemic Sound's player for the global community of creators and brands to use, and across all major music streaming platforms.
Throughout the year, new tracks will be released by artists including Kleerup, Silvana Imam, Dan Lissvik, Jenny Wilson, Stella Explorer and Harrison First.
