Whitney Asomani and Tasha Demi, co-founders of Twenty:Two Agency, have announced the launch of a new mentorship and education project, Music Week can reveal.
Twenty:Two Academy, a free music marketing skills programme aimed at providing young people from underrepresented backgrounds with industry education and experience, will get underway this year. The scheme will enable aspiring marketers aged 18-26 to learn from industry professionals, gain experience and build networks.
The programme will run over 12-weeks, with a new cohort signing up annually, and will include workshops, mentorship, and internship opportunities.

As we transition from Agency to Academy, we’re focused on shaping what’s next

Demi told Music Week that “the Academy is a natural next step from everything we built with Twenty:Two – a space designed to educate, empower, and open doors for the next generation of artists and marketers”.
“When we launched five years ago, building an independent marketing agency to reflect the modern music landscape was a bold move, it wasn’t the norm,” Demi added. “The industry looks very different now, and it’s been powerful to witness the rise of independent talent. As we transition from Agency to Academy, we’re focused on shaping what’s next. On the agency side, over at MODE, we are continuing to lead campaigns built for today’s attention: culturally sharp and audience-first. Impact, nurture, create change – that’s the thread running through everything I do.”
Asomani, meanwhile, is relocating to the US, where she will expand her consultancy business and further her role as vice president of marketing at Gamma.
I know how vital access and education are, so the focus is on opening doors, sharing knowledge, and creating free opportunities

The executive, who was inducted onto the Music Week Women In Music Awards Roll Of Honour in 2023, said that Twenty:Two Agency “will always be an important part of my journey”.
“It gave me independence, space to grow, and the chance to build something meaningful,” Asomani said. “Stepping into this next chapter with the Academy feels special because it’s about pouring that learning back into others. As a Brit School alumnus, I know how vital access and education are in this industry, so the focus is on opening doors, sharing knowledge, and creating free opportunities led by executives who are actively shaping campaigns today.”
She also expanded on her future plans.
“At the same time, I’m moving to America to focus on international clients while continuing to build out UK and European strategy and exploring management opportunities as they arise,” Asomani said. “It feels like the right balance – giving back to the community that shaped me while also growing in new directions and taking on global challenges. That combination of impact and ambition is what excites me most about this next chapter.”
The duo said their “mission” is to “democratise access to music marketing education”.
“We’re here to help young people from underrepresented backgrounds get real, practical skills,” they said. “We’re building the kind of space we wish existed when we were finding our feet.”
