Charts analysis: Alex Warren eclipses Elvis Presley as he extends chart run to nine weeks

Eclipsing Elvis Presley’s smash It’s Now Or Never – which spent eight weeks in pole position in 1960 – Alex Warren’s Ordinary extends its run to nine weeks, and becomes the longest-reigning No.1 by a solo American male since Slim Whitman racked up 11 consecutive weeks at the summit with Rose Marie in 1955.
